Origins
CSR International is a community interest company, conceived in 2008 and formally launched in March 2009 by social entrepreneur, writer and academic, Wayne Visser, originator of the concept of CSR 2.0 and author/editor of five books on CSR, including The A to Z of Corporate Social Responsibility and Making A Difference.
Passion
We are a community of professionals who are deeply concerned about the world’s social and environmental problems and profoundly inspired by the potential of business to contribute to the solutions.
Purpose
We promote a new, evolved concept of CSR, which we call CSR 2.0. CSR 2.0 moves beyond CSR as public relations, philanthropy or incremental improvement to CSR as a transformative concept based on connectedness, scalability and responsiveness.
Approach
We transform CSR into an integrated solution through thought-leadership, research, best practice benchmarking and shared learning.
Members
Our members are corporate sustainability & responsibility (CSR) professionals, students and enthusiasts from business, government, academia and civil society, who are focused on transforming business into a positive agent for change in the economy, society and the environment.

The CSRI team is comprised of volunteers, led by Founder Director, Wayne Visser. In addition, there is an International Advisory Board comprising Bimal Arora (India), Victoria Coleman (Australia), Sam Lee (China), Dirk Matten (Canada), Roberto Salazar (Ecuador) and Dale Williams (South Africa).
